【personal opinion】

It is not surprising that the percentage of Japanese high school students who consider work “fun” is low.

Japan is one of the few countries in the world where work is compulsory and there is no basic income system.

Because people have to work to make a living, they have no choice but to work even if they do not want to.

Even if they do work, they have to pay high taxes and social insurance premiums, so they do not have any money left over.

In addition, there are additional taxes such as consumption tax and automobile tax.

This makes it hard to have any hope of working.
