I would like to share my personal opinion about the use of the women’s restroom by staff members with gender identity disorder, which I wrote about in this blog on July 11.

Many comments on this news were negative about the use of the women’s restroom by staff members.

I understand the fear of a male person entering the women’s restroom.

In fact, we occasionally see news reports of crimes such as voyeurism and obscenity in women’s restrooms.

It is also understandable that people do not like the idea that this ruling will allow anyone to use the women’s restroom if they claim to be a woman at heart.

However, it would be premature to assume that the ruling will immediately apply to general cases as well.

In this case, other employees knew that the employee was working as a woman, and the employee looked and dressed like a woman.

Moreover, since the location was the restroom of the workplace and there was no anonymity, it is unlikely that the staff member would commit a crime there, such as voyeurism or obscenity.

Given this, I personally think that it would be going too far to go so far as to have the workplace reject a request to use the women’s restroom, just as it would in a normal female workplace.
